Presentation: Founded in 2017 by 6 initial members, Bioprod is today one of the largest vegetable cooperative in Romania engaging close to 400 members with in total over 200ha of greenhouses and ~650ha of fully irrigated open field cultivated areas. In 2023, the total vegetables production exceeded 70.000 tons, with key crops including: potatoes, onion, tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers and leafy greens. Bioprod is a large size cooperative with a strategy aiming at reducing the amount of utilized pesticides. The cooperative employs modern equipment and technologies, owning an extensive asset base including significant fleet of modern tractors, combinators, high precision seeding and planting machines including agri drones, cold storage facilities, own trucks fleet with country-wide delivery capabilities. The modern equipment and facilities (cold storage, sensors to monitor culture parameters and warn of the presence of pathogens) are connected through an ICT input systems provider and have the same retailer for product distribution. Bioprod is also certified "Global GAP".
