Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF) is a State Agriculture University established under Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Act, 1986 (Act No. 4 of 1987) by the government of Himachal Pradesh. UHF aims to promote Education, Research and Extension Education in the fields of Horticulture, Forestry and allied disciplines. It has earned a unique distinction not only in the country but also in whole of Asia for teaching, research and extension education in horticulture, forestry and allied disciplines with Himalayan perspective. Its’ milestones have strengthened the path of sustainable development of horticulture and forestry in Himachal Pradesh and have further presented a model of prosperity for eco-conscious development before Indian Himalayan states & entire region of Hindu Kush Himalayas. UHF is presently leading work on Natural Farming as an agroecological practice for sustaining agriculture and horticulture in the state.
