Presentation: Under the leadership of four co-leaders from the education sector, Université de Montreal, Université Laval, INRS and McGill, the RQRAD has a membership of more than 250 researchers from 16 universities and institutions, several provincial and federal research centers, and College Centers for Technology Transfer (CCTT). The RQRAD also brings together numerous strategic partners representing various farming communities, growers’ associations, and extension services providers. This very broad membership reflects the extent of our transdisciplinary and inclusive research network. Advancement of knowledge with our collaborators and partners plays an essential role in the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture in Quebec. The RQRAD's scientific program is built around four complementary research axes requiring cross-disciplinary investigations, namely: Axis 1: Alternatives to synthetic pesticides Axis 2: Conservation and restoration of soil health Axis 3: Digital agriculture, precision farming and big data Axis 4: Socioeconomics with an emphasis on adoption, innovation, and public policy This ambitious scientific program, anchored on the needs of users, directly contributes to the targets set by the Sustainable Agriculture Plan. Funding: 24 inter-axes research projects totaling $25M. Networking and cocreation activities: workshops, meetings, training activities, and summer school gathering stakeholders, agronomists, researchers, graduate students and producers.
